Frida Lamp by Borgo Delle Tovaglie
Frida Lamp by Borgo Delle Tovaglie is lovingly designed and handcrafted in Italy. Rather unconventional for a lamp, little Frida in her frou frou confection of linen and tulle in soft, muted tones, sits elegantly amid the most diverse of interiors. For a touch of humour she could grace the bedside table of the most masculine of bachelor pads when wearing her black leather or anthracite linen. Equally, in her palest of pinks, she could be extremely comfortable in the youngest of aspiring ballerina’s domain. Of course in all her other hues she is dazzlingly elegant in just about any room in the house and at the very least she is always a topic of conversation!
The beauty in Borgo delle Tovaglie’s style is in not having fixed rules. It’s always different yet maintains an instantly recognizable signature. Expressive and spontaneous, the sheer depth of their collections allows for a completely personal interpretation in each home.
Born in 1996 as a tablecloth manufacturing firm in the ancient Via delle Tovaglie in Bologna, Borgo Delle Tovaglie (guided by the astonishingly creative Valentina Muggia and her husband Giuliano Di Paolo) moved more towards an eclectic portfolio of household goods. Today they have two stores selling all but the kitchen sink – although I expect that is just a matter of time – and their Paris store also features a quite mouthwatering bar and restaurant.
