Based in Winchester and the New Forest, I cover all of Hampshire and the Southern region. Whether you require a small make-over or a complete interior design service please read on! I have no set style: I can do traditional or contemporary, sumptuous or simple, luxurious or budget, individual or corporate Interior and Exterior Design.
Entering into any interior decoration project can be daunting, so for inspiration please read my blog and visit my Pinterest Boards. Alternatively visit my home decor and lifestyle shop in Winchester to view books of fabrics and wallpapers.
HOW THE PROCESS WORKS
Before embarking on your Interior Design Project I ask you to email me 2 pictures of the rooms requiring decoration, taken from opposite corners and including as much of the room as possible. Then a brief paragraph outlining your needs, any relevant pieces you want to work around, ideas of future styles that you already have and a link to any of your Pinterest inspiration boards you would like me to look at. Then I can decide if I think I can help you and which of my services would best apply. Further details are below.
If it is a whole house interior design you require then I will visit the property to discuss the project in detail, meet with architects and builders if applicable then send you a written proposal. Once hired I can find (or deal with existing) architects, surveyors, building contractors, decorators and landscapers. I can source furniture, furnishings and fittings or work around your own. I can also work without architects, using my design ideas and basic drawing skills to work through room layouts with you until a desired plan is arrived at.
A home has many guises, it can be a haven you come home to after a busy day, it can be a platform for your entertaining, it can be your workplace as well as a space for a growing family, it can be a place you want to enjoy and invest a lot of time and effort into or it can be just a place to rest your head.
So when I come along to see you I will ask you those questions, along with your favourite colours, your preferred lighting, do you lay or sit to watch tele, do you in fact have a tele and if you do can it be seen or must it be hidden? Do you choose form over function, or is function of paramount importance?
Do your pets, if you have them, jump on beds and sofas so we need to think of durable fabrics, or are they delegated to their own pad, which may also need designing and integrating into the home? Do you want a super duper designer kitchen to cook up fantastic feasts or do you go out to eat and want a kitchen that services the basic needs to survive? How many of you have to pass the fridge on the way out in the morning, is there enough space for you to do toast and homework at the same time as ironing the forgotten uniform? Do you shower together or is he banished to the guest bathroom?
Whatever I can ask you at this first, free interior design consultation helps me understand you and your needs and from that I can come up with a scheme. I don’t push my style onto you, I ask you to push your personality towards me so I can surmise the most appropriate way to help you design your home.
If you just have one room to design my starting point is £295.00 per room for a mood board, suggested layout, a list of products, plus a technical specification and samples. For a further £40.00 per hour I can research special pieces for you, organise your workforce and come in and dress the room once finished. If the property is further than 20 miles radius of Winchester I charge travelling time at £40 per hour.
You may even just want a room restyling, so for £195.00 I will visit your home and suggest how you can change your look by adding or removing existing furniture, furnishings and accessories. For a further £40.00 per hour I can research special pieces for you, organise your workforce and come in and dress the room once finished. If the property is further than 20 miles radius of Winchester I charge travelling time at £40.00 per hour.
To either upgrade an existing scheme or start from scratch is £95.oo per room. (A full house will be quoted separately)
Colour plays such an important part in our life even if we are not really aware of it. Think of those cold grey days of winter, it’s not just the sun eventually coming out that make the difference, it’s the effect the light has on everything around you that puts a spring in your step. Suddenly you notice the warmth in the brown of the barren fields and the luminosity of a watery sky after a shower. How much easier is the drive to work as the daffodils nod in the breeze and the first blossoms emerge on the trees. So why not transfer that to the home – surely we all want to surround ourselves with colours that please and comfort us. Whether you want an all white home with a hint of pastel, a background of warm greys with splashes of neutrals or jewels, a sharp masculine take on navy or deep grey or a kaleidoscope of bohemian reds ambers and pinks, whatever you do will welcome you with open arms when you step through your door into its warm embrace. And it’s so easy! Pick up a paint pot or call a decorator and lo and behold a totally new look.
